Step inside Cousin’s Candy Shop and step back in time to a delightful place of delicious treats and sweets. Homemade fudge. Fresh salt-water taffy. Unique candies and sweets. Old-fashioned candy in a historic setting. All of this and more is available at Cousin’s Candy Shop.

One of my favorite stops when I visit Old Town San Diego is Cousin’s Candy Shop. Salt-water taffy is one of the specialties and a variety of flavors are made fresh on-site. If you happen to visit when taffy is being made and pulled, you’re able to watch through the window or inside the shop. If you like homemade fudge, Cousin’s offers several unique options like Chewy Praline, Huckleberry, Birthday Cake, Red Velvet, Orange Cream, and Tin Roof Sundae to name a few.

In addition to the made on-site treats of fudge and taffy, Cousin’s Candy Shop offers many other types of candy and treats.

My most recent trip to Cousin’s Candy Shop was a week ago and many of the shops in Old Town have set up their Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) altars. The altar at Cousin’s is dedicated to Walt Disney and I found it to be a touching tribute to the man behind my favorite mouse.

In San Diego, there are two locations of Cousin’s Candy Shop – one in Old Town and one at Seaport Village. The original Cousin’s Candy Shop is located in Virginia City, Montana.

If you are looking for homemade and novelty treats, consider checking out Cousin’s Candy Shop. If you aren’t located in San Diego (or Virginia City), Cousin’s offers gift baskets and candy through its online shop.

My favorites at Cousin’s are the homemade taffy and fudge, the chocolate river rocks, and the wide selection of novelty candies. I’ve heard the Huckleberry treats are also quite tasty – I’ll be trying those next time!
