Found a new food truck here in San Diego that is definitely Yummy for the Tummy! It’s called Grater Grilled Cheese and if you follow them on Twitter (@gratergc) you can find out where they are day-to-day for lunch or dinner. This truck is often near my office on Wednesdays at lunchtime and this week I finally had a chance to check it out.

I ordered the “Basic 5” grilled cheese. You can add a spread, but I opted to have no spread this time. The Basic 5 has five cheeses – provolone, sharp aged cheddar, Muenster, Swiss, and mozzarella – on grilled sourdough bread. There are other options of ways to customize your grilled cheese sandwich – maybe next time I’ll branch out beyond the basic. I added a bag of chips and a bottle of water and was all set for under $10.

Grater Grilled Cheese is a popular food truck and will soon add 2 locations in San Diego – one in Pacific Beach and another one in La Jolla. The Pacific Beach location is scheduled to open first – check out their Facebook page for details. I will definitely check out this food truck again – and look forward to their grand openings soon! Grater Grilled Cheese is uniquely San Diego and their sandwiches are yummy for the tummy!
