“I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream”

It’s summertime and a great way to kick it off was a visit to Mr. Frostie’s in Pacific Beach. This small ice cream shop has been serving soft serve treats and other foods to San Diegans since 1949. Located on the corner of Garnet Avenue and Haines Street, if you aren’t careful you may drive right past it! This is a favorite spot for many as they come from or go to the beach. When we visited this past weekend my husband had a medium vanilla chocolate dipped cone and I had the lemon custard soft serve in a waffle cone.

Mr. Frostie’s has always been family owned and the current family has owned it since 1978. They offer a simple food menu of deli sandwiches, hot dogs, chili cheese dogs, chips, and so forth in addition to sweet treats. It doesn’t matter what the weather is or the time of day – there will be people gathering at Mr. Frostie’s. If you find yourself near Pacific Beach and are craving something yummy for the tummy, be sure to check out this ice cream shop that is uniquely San Diego.
